Ivory Service Architect Version 3.5 Extends Platform Support, Enables Organizations to Control MIPS Growth for Mainframe SOA Initiatives
ATLANTA, August 13, 2007 - GT Software [www.gtsoftware.com], a leading provider of rapid SOA development solutions that leverage mainframe resources, today announced release 3.5 of Ivory Service Architect, which now supports Ivory-based services deployed on either Linux or Unix platforms. The latest version of GT Software’s flagship solution will be introduced at SHARE, this week’s annual conference of the IBM user group in San Diego.
Ivory Service Architect consists of Ivory Studio, a graphical modeling environment; Ivory Server, a high-performance SOAP processor with runtime service orchestration; and the recently-introduced Ivory Server for Batch. With version 3.5, Ivory now supports deployment of mainframe-based Web services across the widest range of platforms, giving organizations broad flexibility in where they choose to house SOA-related workload.
No other solution on the market today offers such a variety of options for mainframe SOA. Without requiring any changes to the service definition, Ivory Service Architect supports the deployment of mainframe-based Web services across z/VSE, z/OS, CICS/TS, CICS, IMS, Windows, Wintel, Unix, and Linux. Key benefits of this broader platform support include the ability to shift SOA-related workload off the mainframe, as well as the ability to leverage new mainframe MIPS-reducing hardware such as zAAP processors.
"While organizations today are increasingly moving toward service enabling the mainframe, MIPS growth remains a primary concern,” said Rob Morris, senior vice president, marketing and strategy, GT Software. “This latest release of Ivory directly addresses this concern by providing a seamless ability to shift workload combined with the most sophisticated, mainframe service-enablement solution with capabilities that are unmatched by any other offering on the market today. With this addition of Unix and Linux support, Ivory delivers an even more flexible and robust foundation to companies, enabling the most options for building and deploying mainframe SOA and Web Services.”
Ivory Service Architect v3.5 is available immediately worldwide; pricing starts at $20,000.
GT Software is located in Booth 200 at SHARE, the IBM user group conference at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego.
