Partnership Simplifies the Inclusion of Mainframe-based Business Services in Business Process Management Initiatives

Plano, TX and Atlanta, GA - December 1, 2005 - GT Software, Inc., a leading provider of rapid service-oriented architecture (SOA) development for the mainframe, and Fuego, a leading provider of agile business process management (BPM) solutions, today announced an alliance ensuring that mainframe-based business services can play a key role in BPM-based applications.

The partnership between the two companies initially consists of joint marketing and sales activities, and in the future will include engineering activities to more tightly couple the two leading technologies, further simplifying customer process development, management and optimization.

SOA requires the successful interaction of both new and legacy applications and GT Software is at the forefront of delivering mainframe-based business services, said Rick Mattock, vice president, product strategy at Fuego. Customers immediately benefit because mainframe business-services can be more easily included as part of a new, open and agile process in FuegoBPM.

GT Software's Ivory solution enables the deployment of mainframe-based business services that fuel enterprise SOA initiatives. Mainframe developers can graphically orchestrate mainframe transaction, application, data, and web services into multi-step, multi-operation business services with no formal training or consulting required.

The FuegoBPM Suite is an advanced BPM software platform that enables companies to easily and rapidly achieve the promised benefits of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Fuego offers customers a technology-agnostic approach that is effective at tying together the enterprise applications and legacy databases that are prevalent throughout today's heterogeneous environments. In a fraction of the time, effort and cost of proprietary infrastructure, FuegoBPM allows users to model their business processes, define key performance indicators (KPIs), simulate the expected performance, connect those processes to people and systems, execute the processes and manage exceptions. Most importantly, the solution provides valuable insight through its ability to measure, monitor and optimize process effectiveness.
