Fraikin Selects GT Software's Ivory to Provide Customers with SOAP-based Web Service access to z/OS CICS applications
Atlanta, GA - March 14, 2005 - Atlanta-based GT Software, Inc., a leading provider of mainframe integration solutions, today announced that Fraikin has successfully implemented Ivory? to create a Web services front-end for their existing CICS transactions, providing their customers with real-time information access.
Franck Lerivrain, developer manager at Fraikin, stated, "I like Ivory because of the GUI interface which allows you to quickly build Web services. Our plans include building composite Web services in future Ivory applications."
Fraikin, a French company that manages fleet truck rentals for large companies such as G鯤is, DHL, Pomona, French Postal, and Carglass, had a requirement to deliver information about the schedules of rentals, repairs and maintenance to their customers in real-time. Before the Ivory implementation, Fraikin had to e-mail maintenance schedules to their customers, and then answer the inevitable questions individually. The e-mail solution didn't provide real-time answers.
GT Software's French distributor, JVL, introduced Ivory to Fraikin so that Web services could be used to provide the real-time schedules. "Fraikin has successfully deployed several projects developed with GT Software's VisualConnect? and they are very satisfied with the product," said Jean-Pierre Vercruysse, president of JVL.
"Their new challenge was to integrate their mainframe systems using Web services. They are pleased with how quickly they can create and deploy a Web service using Ivory". The Ivory-generated Web services solution allows Fraikin customers to access information about their fleet rentals in real-time. This eliminates the need for broadcast e-mail messages and reduces the time required to answer individual queries. Fraikin's customers find it easy to get the information they want, when they want it, without e-mail delays.
Ivory Web Services continues to offer innovative and effective methods for bottom-up and top-down processing for CICS Transaction Server. Ivory Studio and Ivory Server team up to provide composite, outbound/inbound Web services in addition to the composite application processes.
GT Software continues its commitment to Web service processing by providing CICS Transaction Server developers with the tools to move their investment in CICS and IBM into all areas of their enterprise. The Ivory process for Web Services provides the method to move these assets into the development environments of J2EE, .NET and future SOA directions.
