Atlanta, GA - March 8, 2005 - Atlanta-based GT Software, Inc., a leading provider of mainframe integration solutions, today announced that the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) has successfully implemented tcACCESS to validate Social Security numbers while taking an unemployment claim.

"tcACCESS is a proven product with the State of Alabama," said Dennis McKinney, Data Systems Manager of the Department of Industrial Relations. "The Administrative Office of Courts uses tcACCESS and recommended it to us. We were impressed by the ease of use of the product and by the support we received from GT Software's staff".

Alabama DIR had a need to validate Social Security numbers with the Social Security Administration when an unemployment claim is taken. Before tcACCESS, they had no way to authenticate this information. With tcACCESS, Alabama DIR is able to access and integrate VSAM file dates from a Microsoft Visual Basic application, which allows them to fulfill the need for identity authentication. As for future projects with tcACCESS, Alabama DIR plans to update VSAM data from a Microsoft Visual Basic application via CICS.

"The Alabama Department of Industrial Relations will be the first agency in the United States to instantaneously cross-match Social Security records, which will help prevent fraudulent claims for benefits and identity theft," said Phyllis Kennedy, Industrial Relations director.

GT Software's tcACCESS is a powerful solution that provides existing IBM S/390 or IBM VSE/ESA mainframe applications (COBOL, PL/1, Natural, etc.) with real-time access to open systems data resources, as well as real-time access to IBM S/390 or IBM VSE/ESA data resources from open systems applications.
