Ivory Service Architect exploits the zAAP, or System z Application Assist, to reduce mainframe MIPs usage for mainframe integration and SOA workloads.  Use of the IBM XML Parser provides the zAAP offload benefit to Ivory Service Architect Servers running in z/OS and CICS/TS.

Ivory leverage IBM's XML parser for SOAP Input and Ivory runtime XML assets to execute on engines classified as a zAAP.  Ivory Service Architect also delivers a gain in additional through-put improvement on their Web Service processing due to the higher MIP ratings of the specialty engines.

In addition to offering support for the zAAP specialty engine, Ivory Service Architect provides clients with easy to use methods to manage the workload , as the new Ivory SOA Workload Manager console allows clients to select which services will be processed using either the Ivory XML parser methods or the IBM XML processor method.  With Ivory, you can use either XML parser, or a combination of both.

Ivory makes it easy to reduce MIPS across your SOA workload, resulting in a dramatically lower TCO.
