The Ivory® Data Access SQL engine provides direct access to various vendor-specific as well as in house custom file systems from a variety of open system environments or mainframe platforms using standard SQL syntax. Ivory Data Access supports the joining of data from these file systems with information from other relational and non-relational mainframe data sources (i.e. IMS, DL/1, DB2, VSAM, ADABAS, CA-Datacom, CA-IDMS), presenting the end user with relevant data in familiar relational data views. Ivory Data Access provides fast, efficient data access that is flexible and transparent.

  • Ivory Data Access provides SQL data servers for the following file systems:
    • EDN (file system for products from WILKEN GmbH)
    • KDBS (general purpose database management system)
    • SPITAB (AXIOS file system)
  • Rapid implementation of home grown databases as required through standard user exit
  • Use of standard SQL commands to provide transparent integration of file system data with information from other data sources (such as CA-IDMS, IMS, DL/1, DB2, VSAM, ADABAS, CA-Datacom)
  • Support for individual user or departmental data views
  • Support for any connectivity method, such as TCP/IP, SNA, MQ-Series and HLLAPI
