Ivory allows you to create simple or complex web services from your existing CICS, IMS, 3270, CA-Ideal, CA-IDMS, external web services and data without any coding.   For complex services, the orchestration is managed internally by  the Ivory server which is also a code free implementation.    Other approaches do require code which has an inherant  learning curve which can be steep and will require any code written to be maintained for the life of the Web service.

Ivory’s approach to development uses a Web Services creation wizard or graphical “wiring” diagrams modeler that allow the user to drag, drop then wire together various building blocks (programs, transactions, etc.)  to compose a service.

In addition to making the services easier to build and deploy, Ivory’s no-code-generation approach streamlines maintenance, avoiding the hefty iterative cycles required by most companies to rebuild and redeploy source-code-based applications. The benefits of this approach are obvious in terms of who can participate in the development process, what they are able to accomplish, and the types of design patterns they can employ.
