ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is an industry standard protocol that greatly simplifies system-wide utilization of data. Ivory® Data Access contains an ODBC Server component and an ODBC driver. Lotus Notes or Lotus Domino applications can use SQL to access the mainframe data sources (i.e. VSAM, DLI, IMS/DB, CA-Datacom, ADABAS, etc.) using ODBC. If required, data can also be manipulated. As an alternative to SQL commands, access can also be performed using individual application logic.

Ivory Data Access simplifies the development of Lotus Notes/Domino applications with direct access to mainframe data sources, because no mainframe knowledge is required. Ivory Data Access uses the SAF interface to guarantee the highest possible level of security. Open server applications can use the central data access mechanisms of the mainframe with no limitations.

Features:

  • Direct SQL access to mainframe data from Lotus Notes/Domino applications
  • ntegration of mainframe programs into MS Windows applications via ODBC
  • Support for Formula Language, LotusScript, and Domino Enterprise Connection Services
  • ODBC access through the local ODBC driver as well as the ODBC server
  • Support of all common ODBC standards
