As organizations make the decision to buy versus build, packaged applications are taking on a more prevalent role. The challenge of extending and integrating to these applications is no different than it is for in-house written applications. Tapping into the rich resources of these applications provides business value.
To make matters easier, some vendors provide WSDLs along with the applications as an integration point. If a WSDL is available, Ivory Service Architect can import those WSDLs and build web services. These applications also have the ability to make web service calls. Using Ivory Service Architect you can reach back to the legacy systems during migration or to supplement the functionality of the packaged apps.
Recently, one of GT Software’s premier customers used Ivory Service Architect in an integration project with SAP. The challenge was to move their mainframe resources over to SAP and they chose to create z/OS based web services with Ivory Service Architect. The Ivory Service Architect approach allowed them to complete the project quickly, easily, and without any coding. Click here for more information.
