The Ivory® MQ Gateway solution from GT Software provides support for MQ Series two different ways.

·          As a transport mechanism for SOAP based web services
·          Direct programmatic support for integration to MQ Series

Transport
  • Insulate applications from the target Web service processor; an application consuming a Web service should not be concerned about the processor's physical location.
  • Insulate applications from concerns about the transport mechanism of MQ or HTTP.
  • Guarantee message delivery by using MQ.
  • Combine transport mechanisms while using MQ only when the need arises:
    • In a normal operation mode, it uses HTTP to communicate with Ivory Server.
    • If Ivory Server is not available via HTTP, the request can still be delivered by Ivory Gateway using the MQ transport mechanism.
  • Provide administrative control over which Web services the Gateway clients are allowed to access.

Integration

  • Ivory's delegate support allows users of Ivory to run custom code
    • MQ programmatic integration is a perfect example of this type of custom code
  • For example, a web service could be created to add data to or get data from an MQ queue

If you have a mainframe environment and maximizing the benefits of MQ Series is paramount to implementation of an SOA, GT Software’s Ivory product family can address all of your specific SOA and MQ Series requirements.
