Ivory with CICS

CICS is the backbone system for mission-critical applications at many organizations. Ivory solutions provide direct web service enablement of CICS programs and transactions. Find out how using proven mainframe integration solutions from GT Software can help you accelerate new development initiatives.

See a short video of an Ivory Web Service exposing a CICS program.

Ivory Service Architect provides web service integration for CICS at the presentation layer and at the application transaction layer. Presentation layer integration is possible using the BMS source as input (via the 3270 Bridge) to create direct web service enablement for screen-based applications. Ivory Service Architect can also interface with non-BMS 3270 application to create services.

CICS COMMAREA programs can be exposed as services without changing the underlying program’s code. Support for both COBOL and PL/1 copybooks makes the service development easy and straightforward. Ivory also provides support for CICS Channels and Containers when building services.

CICS BMS screens application can be combined with transactions, data, and other web services, using the orchestration capabilities of Ivory Service Architect to quickly create composite SOAP, RESTful and JSON services with minimal training, and no coding.

CICS programs can easily make outbound web services calls from existing transactions, making Ivory Service Architect a complete web services solution.

In addition, Ivory BMS/TS is a powerful BMS screen generator for CICS that enables you to reduce by 80%-90% the time it takes to build, edit and maintain BMS maps without being connected to the mainframe.

ASSIST/TS allows you to provide screen or field level help screens to 3270 applications without coding or code changes. Easy to configure and use, it enables the replacement of outdated and inflexible help systems.
