Access Non-Mainframe Data From Your Mainframe

Ivory Data Access can transfer data bi-directionally between the mainframe and other systems. This data transfer can be completely automated and initiated from either side. The data transfer can be scheduled to start at a specific time or on a specific event.

Through its Open Systems Transparency feature, Ivory Data Access that allows your programs efficient access to distrubuted data with a standard COBOL API.

Ivory Data Access provides direct access to any ODBC data source, DB2, or Oracle database residing on a Windows or UNIX/Linux platform by online (CICS, IMS/DC, etc.) and batch programs on the mainframe. The resulting real-time integration of mainframe applications eliminates the need for synchronization of mainframe and open systems data.

For example, Ivory Data Access enables a mainframe application to process Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle data. The mainframe program simply calls the API for the Ivory Data Access SQL engine, passes the SQL statement (which can be a pre-defined join between mainframe and open systems data), and specifies the connection parameter.

  • Direct access to ODBC data sources like Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
  • High performance native interface to DB2 (DRDA) and Oracle (OCI)
  • Resource access using simple SQL commands
  • Easy implementation via simple API
  • Scalable to efficiently process large data volumes

Ivory Data Access Open Systems Transparency for the mainframe is easy to implement and provides excellent performance when accessing open systems data, with no special requirements.
