Most mainframe centric organizations use batch processes as an important part of their day to day operations. A mainframe SOA vision cannot be considered complete without a strategy to integrate batch processes. Ivory Server for Batch integrates batch applications with internal or external services. With very low overhead and incredible throughput, batch applications can now be active participants in an SOA. This unique ability to meet the rigorous performance requirements of batch applications in a service-oriented environment empowers organizations to realize the business value of SOA without disrupting critical operations.
z/Linux and batch applications
Sorry for the double post here, but if we use the z/Linux version of Ivory for accessing IMS/DC. What would be the requirements for our batch applications to access the Web services hosted on z/Linux or other platforms?
Our main interest to to provide near zero MIP impact on our mainframe. Seems the z/Linux version of Ivory provides this for inbound applications, but what about the mainframe applications we plan on updating to access external web services?
